Chai Tea

With all due respect to Alyx from Evanston. Original recipe located at:

4 cups water
4-5 whole star anise
1 level tablespoon of inner pods of green cardamon, then ground fine by electric blade coffee grinder
15-18 whole cloves
3-4 cracked pieces of Vietnamese Cinnamon (Cassia)
2 large pieces candied ginger, cut
1 level tablespoon of whole black peppercorns, then cracked by electric blade coffee grinder
2 bay leaves
8 bags black tea (or equivalent loose) (20g)
4 cups milk, hot
1/3 cup brown sugar
Serves / Yields
8 cups

Preparation Instructions
Combine all ingredients except milk and sweetener, and boil for 10 minutes. Strain in cheese cloth. Add the hot milk, and mix, with your choice of honey or brown sugar.
